Hallway benches – Halls can often become messy areas full of shoes, boots, umbrellas and bags that members of the household must step over when they leave and enter the house. A hall bench can be a quick solution, making homeowners a place to sit when they put on and take off the shoes as well as a place to keep items like umbrellas and keys. Fortunately, you do not need to have a carpentry experience to build such a bench. You can create a simple one with basic articles.
Measure your hallway with a tape measure and determine the ideal dimensions for the upper board on the hallway benches. For example, most bench planks tend to be about 40 inches by 18 inches. Visit a home delivery store and ask them to cut you a piece of plywood or other wood board to the desired dimensions. Rub 180 grit sandpaper over the surface of the small ladder ladders and the board. This will open up the seed to better receive the color. Dust the pieces when you are done with your dustbin. Apply a layer of latex primer to the board and pallets. Allow to dry for 1-2 hours.
Apply a layer of painted paint with your brush on your ladder ladders and board. Leave them at least 12 hours to dry before applying a second layer. When the pieces are completely dry, place ladders at least two meters apart and completely parallel to each other. Place the board on top of the stool. Examine the position of the board and ladders to make sure they are straight. Adjust if necessary. Nail the board to step ladders, using at least three nails on each side.
Place low baskets on either step of ladders. These are suitable storage spaces for smaller umbrellas, keys, hats, scarves and other items. Insert the 36-inch wood band on the back of your hallway benches frame, at the top. Add the hinges to the front of the wood strip, 6 inches from each corner. Attach the panel to the remaining 36-inch hinges, create a top for your bench. Set the bench to the base of the door with wooden screws. If your door is hollow, use anchor screws. Put the mirror to the center of the top of the door with the mirror glue. Attach the six decorative metal hooks, three evenly distributed on each side of the mirror. Place the pillows on the bench storage for extra comfort.
